Girls Gone Wild at the Silver Legacy

Okay, so it wasn't quite all that, but we had way to much fun!

Long-time friend Cathy stayed the night after the baby shower on Sunday and we took off for the Silver Legacy in Reno the following morning. We stopped in Truckee to see Jen at work and hoped to take her to lunch but we got there just as she came off her lunch. We had a leisurely lunch at Pacific Crest in old historic Truckee and roamed some of the shops afterwards. Then we were back on the road to Nevada. Here are just a few moments form our trip.

Shots taken from the hotel window.

Have to take pictures in front of the grand fountain in the El Dorado.

Cath and I at the Aura Cocktail Lounge at The Silver Legacy. Tuesday through Sunday they serve women free drinks from 4 to 7 PM. It was a very slow afternoon night and the young bartender Justin liked us and ended up entertaining us and giving us free drinks all night. He was very generous to say the least. He made me crazy new drinks later in the evening; for instance a grape vodka with cranberry juice that tastes like Kool-Aid. He also offered us each a shot of chilled patron with salt and lime. We would go play for a while, Cathy enjoyed playing Pai Gow, and every time we came back Justin was waiting with a smile and a "What can I get you." Gotta love him.

Justin entertaining us at one point by juggling shaker containers as they do in bartender competitions. He has entered two at this point and practicing to better himself to enter more in the future. He was a lot of fun.

I don;t know if you can see the cocktail pick in his mouth, however he would throw a maraschino cherry in the air and then try and catch it on the tip of the cocktail pick. Never did do it, and I have to say it was much more entertaining at the moment then it is writing about it. LOL
I didn't take many pictures, having way too much fun, but we did spend an afternoon at the mall and had some wonderful meals. The most memorable was at La Strada in the El Dorado. It is named one of the top 10 Italian restaurants in the Nation. The food is prepared by chefs from Milan Italy. The food was incredibly delicious and authentic Northern Italian cuisine. Wonderful service, ambiance and wine list. I highly recommend it. I had osso buco; braised veal shank in red wine, vegetables and porcini mushrooms, served on a bed of saffron oil orzo. Cath went with the lamb and eggplant. Both were to die for.
