Napkin Folding - Iris

I have always loved folding napkins. I've done it for years, but when I first retired I decided that I was going to learn to fold napkins in more ways than I knew at that point. Once you know basic techniques you can fold many ways. This napkin fold is called "Iris."

Fold your napkin in half into a triangle.

Bring right end up keeping the bottom end in the center of napkin. Fold left side as you did the right.

Bring up bottom point more than halfway up the napkin.

Fold bottom of the napkin in accordion pleats.

Here is the napkin after pleating.

Place into a glass and open the side "petals" and pull the small middle portion towards you to separate it a little from back of Iris.
