Napkin Folding - The First Style I Ever Folded

I first learned to fold this style back in the 1970's. I believe the directions were in the back of Vincent and Mary Price's Cookbook, "A Treasury of Great Recipes." I don;t remember the name of it though I could get out my cookbook and see if they even say what it is. It has remained one of my favorite napkins folds.

Fold your napkin into a triangle.

Fold the bottom up creating a big "boat" or "paper hat" effect.

Accordion pleat from side to side from the bottom.

Place pleated bottom of napkin into a napkin ring and pull the pleats toward you a touch away from back of napkin. This really needs a bigger napkin ring both in depth and width, but it gives you a good idea. Set this in the middle of each dinner plate for a beautiful look to your table setting.

Great techniques. Thanks for the play by play on how to fold.

Your Valentine's Dinner looks good. Especially the brownies.
