Erin Update - 8:20 PM

Erin was moved from the ICU to a normal room. Yay! She is uncomfortable; her jaw hurts. The cervical collar is off now. Ron and Deb brought Steven to see Erin today for a few minutes. He did well but kept asking "Mommy are you alright?" Erin had talked to him about before the surgery and showed him pictures of what she looked like after the last one so he was prepared. she actually looks so much better this time around. She managed to talk to him a little though she was very tired.

Great news today too -- Deb and gang do not have to move out of their motel room for one night to another and then back again. The biggest concern was trying to find a room with a freezer to store Erin's breast milk she pumped for Mackenzie to eat during this time she can;t breast feed. Saturday is Homecoming and Alumni Weekend on campus so everyone is flocking into town for the game and festivities. Everything is booked. We had been praying for a cancellation so they could keep their room. If not they had to move out for one night and then back again. This motel room they are in has a full kitchen so they have a freezer for the milk. It took Deb a lot of work to find another room for the night with a freezer but then heard from the managers where they are now they did get a cancellation and they could stay tomorrow night with no problems. What a relief this is for everyone!

Rob's parents are coming early Saturday morning to see Erin and will drive back home the same day. Ron leaves Saturday back to Iowa. Rob and Steven leave Sunday. It's what Erin wanted. She wants Steven to get back into his normal routine as soon as possible. Deb and Mackenzie are staying in Palo Alto to be with Erin. That's it for now.

I will continue with the updates until Rob and or Deb are up to taking them over.

Thanks again, Diane, for keeping us posted. We all really appreciate it. Glad to hear things are going well and hope that facial nerve is on its way back.

I am so glad to hear that Steven got to see Erin for a bit! I bet that put his mind at ease, and having showed him pictures of her post-surgery before was a great idea! I am so glad Auntie Debbie & the gang doesn't have to change rooms!

We are so grateful that the news of Erin continues to be good. She continues to demonstrate her grace in this time of stress; she is a wise woman to have prepared her son for his first visit with her. Do you have an address where we can send cards to her? Hugs, Vaden

So happy to hear of Erin's positive progress. Last time Erin only had to concentrate of herself and healing. Now it's her healing for her beautiful family. Thanks for the updates. Hope Erin will be home soon!
Love to all,
Eileen & Stan
